Prior to 2012, if you were sentenced to supervision on a misdemeanor Retail Theft, the law required a 5 year waiting period from the date your sentence was successfully completed before an expungement could be filed. However, in 2012, the waiting period was reduced to only 2 years which allows you to clear your criminal record sooner!!!
