Field Sobriety Tests

With the 4th of July around the corner, police will be out in full force conducting road blocks and random checks in the hopes of detecting drivers who are under the influence.  As soon as an officer asks you if you have been drinking and to step out of the vehicle, he has already made the decision to arrest you.  The only thing he is subsequently doing is attempting to build a strong case by asking you to perform standard field sobriety tests (FST).  The results of these tests will later be used as evidence of your impairment and intoxication.  What most people do not know is that  you are under no obligation to perform the tests!!!  Although the police may nevertheless arrest you, the evidence and the strenght of the State’s case will be minimized.  Contact Attorney Matt Fakhoury for more helpful DUI tips.
